Seven heating zones for a 19th-century building with seven different tenants.
Ninja Ops engineered and installed the commercial heating system for the Old Fire Station on Gosforth High Street — a three-storey stone building dating to the late 1800s, now home to a mix of independent businesses under one roof, including a yoga studio, a salon, and third-floor offices.
Every tenant has different heating needs and different hours, so we split a Worcester Bosch system into seven independently controlled zones — each business sets its own temperature without affecting anyone else in the building. Old stone buildings are notoriously hard to heat efficiently, so we used smart controls to keep energy waste down, and installed everything to a standard that respects the building’s original character.
